Program Manager – Jhpiego

Overview:

Jhpiego Indonesia is currently implementing a study entitled Post-partum Family Planning Choices study. The Program Manager will report to Research and Evaluation Director while working in close collaboration with the Family Planning Team Lead. His/her primary role will be to support implementation and oversight of the Jhpiego/Indonesia PPFP Choices study.
The PPFP Choices study is researching the acceptability and feasibility of immediate postpartum family planning in Indonesia. Project activities will be carried out to support the study: strengthening of the quality PPFP counseling and services, and expansion of method choice during antenatal and early labor, as well as pre-discharge periods.

PPFP Choices Study is focusing the program on four major objectives:
Establish a comprehensive program implementation framework for the private sector to embrace PPFP
Improve the quality of PPFP counseling and service provision in both public and private sectors
Build evidence and contribute to the literature and programmatic guidance around PPFP uptake and continuation in both public and private sectors
Ensure effective documentation and strategic dissemination which will benefit PPFP introduction and scale-up more broadly

Responsibilities::
Develop and managing Program Workplans and budget in liaison with the Research & Evaluation Director, Family Planning Team Lead, Technical team and Finance and Administration team;
Constant evaluation of project spending, burn rate and reconciling the budget against outstanding invoices.
Work closely with the Finance and Administration Director to track program budgets and ensure that program finances and documentation are according to Jhpiego standards;
Ensure all finance and administration side of PPFP Choices Study is following Jhpiego requirements
Ensuring routine reporting from the research institution (CHPM UGM) to monitor study progress and challenges
Coordinate routine report writing (quarterly etc.) for headquarter/donors between My Choice and PPFP Choices teams
Liaise closely with the Research and Evaluation Director and Sr. MER advisor at home office to ensure the integrity of the study
Assist the Research and Evaluation Director in reviewing report from consultants (research institution) on the study findings and their implications on strategic planning
Ensure all activity within the data collection SOW is adherence with the planning and following the study protocol and study field guide.
Working with DCO and research team from Gadjah Mada University to coordinate data collection
Coordinate training of data collectors in coordination with Gadjah Mada University and Jhpiego Baltimore
Coordinate with My Choice Program Manager for contract and finance matters
Closely monitor progress toward achieving workplan target, budget tracking and quality reporting
Troubleshoot to prevent and resolve potential programmatic problems;
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and donors in country and region;
Develop program reports with the Research and Evaluation Director and Family Planning Team Lead or any other documentation requested by the donor; and
Document Program success, challenges, and lessons learned and Keep Jakarta/ Headquarters informed.

Qualifications
§ Bachelor’s Degree, advance degree preferred
§ Minimum 6 to 7 years of progressively responsible and directly relevant experience, advance, experience in research or program
management will be advantage
§ Ability to ensure adherence ethical principles regarding research
§ Fluent in spoken and written English is a must
§ Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
§ Strong ability to work and communicate within a team
§ Ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgment
