Position Summary
The Senior, Product Development Manager is an individual contributor responsible for the product development process from initial design concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the production of samples and bulk for men’s and women’s cut and sew knits and sweater for 1941 Outlet.
Responsibilities
Act as a point person for design,merchandising and materials teams.
Coordinates product development activities from concept to confirm.
Key product driver managing all aspects of development while engaging design to ensure aesthetic intent.
Leads early development process by working with design to establish concepts and aesthetic intentions through sampling for key edit and line presentation meetings.
Create and monitor calendars to ensure timeliness of deliverables.
Aligns cross-functionally on the execution of development and implementation of strategies to drive decision-making.
Analyzes design cards for accuracy and completeness.
Manages the timely delivery of samples and mock-ups from sample facilities to dsign.
Support the review of prototypes to meet product development timeline milestones.
Coordinate workload, communication and direction to local sample rooms and patternmakers.
Ability to multitask and manage ad hoc projects and processes for quick accurate turnaround.
Build and maintain Bill of Materials and sample tracking report.
Collect and evaluate costing for accuracy of materials and updated changes.
Coordinate with technical design to send out development packages to sample rooms and service provider.
Coordinate and send out materials and trims to sample rooms and service provider.
Oversee timely execution of all product decisions.
Track sample development deliveries.
Supports the investigation and development of new SP’s.
Qualifications
7 plus years of experience in yarn and cut /sew, fabric sourcing, product development, costing, and production.
Establish relationships with yarns mills and other raw materials suppliers
Expertise in product development and cost engineering
Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
Attention to detail
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
Strong, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills for building working relationships within teams
Strong time management and organizational skills to establish priorities and meet specific timelines.
Ability to proactively trouble shoot and problem solve.
Advanced computer skills, tech pack and/or BOM building experience.
