**Social Service Specialist 5 – Social Service Specialist Supervisor **
The _Aging and Long-Term Support Administration_, Home and Community Services division, is looking for a Social Service Supervisor to join our team who serves clients in Northern Snohomish County.
In this role, you will function independently as a front line supervisor for a blended unit of In-Home and Residential Social Service Specialists who have the responsibility for comprehensively assessing individual client needs, determining the appropriate level of care, and respecting client choices. You will engages in problem-solving solutions for aging and or disabled adults who need some extra supports to age in place with dignity and choice.

Some Of What You’ll Do
Supervise staff that determine nursing level of care and develop initial and ongoing care plans which provide the support necessary to allow clients to remain or return to the community
Set expectations for staff, teach and train staff, monitor and evaluate job performance, and follow up with corrective action when necessary
Audit case files to ensure quality assurance standards are met and hold staff accountable for meeting service delivery standards
Advise staff on appropriate assessment and intervention
Case planning and staffing of cases
Solve complex problems
Establish work schedules and ensure coverage of all functions
Hold monthly unit meetings to establish priorities, disseminate information, and identify concerns, problems, and solutions to workload issues
Ensure that laws, regulations, and policies are effectively implemented and meet regulatory time frames
Travel as needed to attend workshops, conferences, and other local, regional, and statewide trainings and meetings
Who should apply?**
Professionals Who Have One Year Of Paid Experience Completing Assessments And Determining Level Of Care Needs For Elderly And Vulnerable Adults And One Of The Following
Two years as a Social Service Specialist 3 at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
Four years as a Social Service Specialist 2 at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
A master’s degree in criminal justice, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and 4 years of paid social service experience equivalent to a _Social Service Specialist 2_.
A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, and 6 years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a _Social Service Specialist 2_.
NOTE: A two-year Master’s degree in the indicated fields that included a practicum may substitute for 1 year of paid social service experience.
Preference will be given to those with supervisory and investigative experience.
