Continuous Improvement Manager – Eaton

Job Description
Reporting to the plant management, the incumbent will provide leadership and undertake the role of an Expert Leader in the development of six sigma and lean manufacturing programs to support process and continuous improvement for the Batam manufacturing plant through alignment with the plant and division’s CI goals.
Provides leadership, strategic direction, strategic road map and training in the application and development of Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), Eaton Lean Manufacturing programs, Eaton Business System tools and Eaton Operation Assessment tools within Batam plant.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement and direct continuous improvement activities in Batam plant to achieve the plant’s business objectives and corporate goals
Develop strategic plans and deploy Lean Tools (VSM / SW / TPM / 8D / Kaizen) to production processes to meet and achieve sustainable operational improvements
Train, coach and mentor employees to achieve Green Belts certification in the areas of process improvement and process management
Develop strategic plans to reduce cost of quality
Review progress of CI projects and monitor cost savings
Compile, review and monitor site metrics for continuous improvements and reporting to plant management and Eaton corporate division
Organize and follow through with all the plant’s CIF, ELSS and EBS-PULL projects and initiatives and report progress of the respective projects to management on an accurate and timely basis
Represent the plant for improvement projects and business meetings with Eaton corporate division
Conduct regular and structured review sessions to introduce processes for innovation and improvement including maintaining appropriate documentation, project charters, progress updates and final reports
Captures and communicates learnings to enable best practice replication
Lead and administer LEAN council within the plant

Qualifications
Holding a Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
Carrying a minimum 8 to 10 years of specific hands-on working experience in a MNC manufacturing environment and possess excellent working knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEAS, APQP, control plans, project management and problem solving
A Certified Lean Master or Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred
Have an excellent interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills
Team player with a passion for driving excellence, good facilitation skills, strategic change management skills, leadership and intervention capabilities
Independent and resourceful with strong ability to relate the big picture with senior management team as well as practical hands-on approach with employees
Able to perform under pressure and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
