Community Facilitator – Kubu-Ketapang

Programmatic strategic direction and operation
1. Provide technical expertise on grassroots engagement, and work with people at the community level on Forest Fire Management, Biodiversity and Primate Habitat Conservation, livelihood models, community planning, forest and agriculture development
2. Provide technical inputs to local stakeholders in regards to Forest Fire Management, Biodiversity and Primate Habitat Conservation, livelihood models, community planning, forest and agriculture development to ensure the quality of all operations related to Integrated Sustainable Landscape implementation strategies in the areas
3. Facilitate community based activities and support the work of local partners in project implementation, particularly to take an active role in capacity building and the establishment of Community Based Fire Management (CBFiM) and Biodiversity and Primate Habitat Conservation through ToT and Community training in pilot communities
4. Work closely with partners and other relevant agencies to assist them in conducting sustainable agro-forestry, forest management, Forest Fire management, Primate Conservation in-situ techniques including assessments/studies, providing trainings, meetings, workshops, etc;
5. Conduct regular field visits to implement and monitor component activities and in collecting monitoring data in accordance with the component monitoring and evaluation plan
6. Document methods, good practices, experiences and results from the community and partners and provide inputs on project information and documentation (including human interest stories, photos, articles, etc.) to Program Management
7. Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly project report and work plans in consultation with Line Manager and ISLA Project Team, Reports on project activities as per planned project schedule (quarterly, midterm, annum and at project completion);
8. Perform other related work as required

2. Provide technical assistance to partners in developing project implementation

q Project management and implementation
1. Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the project and reporting to the Project Manager
2. Ensuring the achievement of project outcome and output
3. Provide technical assistance to partners and executing agencies in project management and implementation, including monitoring and evaluation
4. Asses, facilitate and provide recommendations on project proposals submitted by government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant partners on substantive and financial aspect based on the program priorities and Partnership’s SOP.
5. Identify and develop synthesis of best practices and lessons learned of the program.

Education and Skill:
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry economics, environment management, or relevant subjects,
• Having good knowledge regarding the current forestry policies; Conservation; Natural Resources Management; Climate and REDD+ processes;
• Clear commitment to governance reform; humble in character and patient in listening to stakeholders is a must;
• Willing to develop a good teamwork with the Partnership staff; having a good skill in report writing, and good skill on the use of ICT.

Experience:
• At least three to five years’ experience working in rural development, sustainable agriculture or agroforestry, forest and livelihoods, climate change, or community development work;
• Having good and wide relation with government agencies, good understanding in community based conservation and forest fires management, Climate Change and REDD+, and have experience and skill in facilitating the development of multi-stakeholders processes.
• Experience and skills in building good working relationship with local partners;
• Experience working in remote communities and good cultural, cross-cultural knowledge and interpersonal skills;
• Good facilitation skills and experience in participatory approaches and community empowerment;
• Good reporting skills;
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision as well as in a team;
• Good computer skills, especially using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
• Experience in a similar position and previous experience of working for a non-government organization (I/LNGO) will be considered an advantage.

Language Requirements:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
