IT Professional – GIZ Country Office Indonesia

Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for:
Maintenance of information technology and management systems.
Regular updating of computer software and programs.
Provision of technical assistance to projects/programs in IT and database management and is the person in charge for ICT related queries.
Ensuring that IT and management systems operate and function correctly.
Implementing and complying with GIZ IT standards.

A. Tasks
1. Hardware related tasks
Assists in purchasing and maintaining hardware. Makes sure all hardware is up to date with standards set by GIZ head office, including laptops, servers, and all desktop computers.
Maintains PC, notebook, printer, digital camera, scanner and other hardware components as well as phones/smartphones.
Consults with the Office Manager with regard to new or improvement of certain systems and networks; tests new hardware and does recommendations for the purchase of new systems, including the upgrading of existing systems and all relevant items pertaining to network and PCs. Monitors the market for quality and value for money, and assuming responsibility for procuring computer equipment.

2. Software related tasks
Helps maintain all GIZ standard software (e.g. MS Office, WinPACCS, and SAP).
Tests new or upgraded software systems and updates all software to the latest versions.
Establishes/maintains proper back-up systems and ensures system security.
Ensures that the anti-virus software is updated periodically.
Manages the repairs of PCs/Notebooks.
Ensures that all the software is legal and collect all the licenses.

3. Internet and websites
Supervises the development and management of Maintains and updates existing websites.
Coordinates regularly with the Programme Director/Management and/or Office Professional on necessary adjustments to the websites.

4. Operational support
Installs/manages and maintains the local area network (LAN).
In consultation with management and within the limits of his/her authority to act, consults with suppliers to ensure that the network, telephone system and computer hardware function properly.
Incorporates market developments on relevant IT issues on his/her own initiative.
Confers with vendors to guarantee maintenance of network and computer equipment.
File server maintenance, structure and access management

5. General Services, Leadership and Self-Management
Installs, manages, maintains, carries out and ensures general administration of the entire IT systems.
Backs up data (in the office and outside of office) and safeguards the system against hackers.
Resolves all computer and internet problems, prepares all the necessary information and provides phone support.
Ensures an IT emergency service.
Gives advisory assistance to projects in matters that concern electronic data processing.
Maintains a list of all hardware and software systems, and updates this to reflect changes.
Documents the installation and settings on the server and on all computers.
Focuses on result for the user and responds positively to feedback.
Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexity.
Replaces other IT Professionals in others locations in case of absence (e.g. sickness, holiday)
Supports other IT professionals if they have a problem and are not able to solve it by themselves (team approach)
The technical leadership is with the IT Coordinator of the GIZ Country Office Indonesia and he/she coordinates and cooperates with him concerning GIZ IT standards and in case of problem solving
Any additional tasks related to IT asked by superior/AV

B. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Minimum bachelor degree in related field;
At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position;
familiarity with IT hardware and software used at GIZ, IT network systems, database software, GIZ intranet and basic understanding of specific GIZ software (SAP, APS, AMS, PACCS, etc.)
Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems (telephone, fax, e-mail, internet and its software);
Language skills: English is a must and German would be advantage;
Abilities to work in an international team and service oriented;

Duty Station: Jakarta
